EFL ASSESSMENTS

ASSESSMENT OF EFL STUDENTS is especially important.  There is an international standard where assessment levels are divided into:
Beginner, High Beginner, Elementary
Intermediate, Advanced.

However, it may be important to break these general assessments into skills assessments:  I think it important in my teaching that I have a strong set of assessments that guide my teaching.

 Examples of ESL/EFL Rubrics

What kind of Assessments do you use?

  1. I really like this rubric! It allows you to see what specific areas students are struggling in as well as exceeding. I also like how specific all the descriptions are for every box, this really allows not only for the teachers to understand how the students are doing, but for the students themselves to understand what the expectations placed on them are. I personally like using rubrics because it allows the teacher to have justification for why they graded the way they did.

  2. As you know, I do not hold a brief for rubrics. But we have to start somewhere and EFL students are always eager for a measurement of their progress.
